Hen and Stag Activities

Looking for the best Hen and Stag do ideas in Brighton and/or the Southeast England? Want something a little different from the traditional pub crawl or something less tacky than strippers? How about a Stand-up Comedy Masterclass?  If you want your group to really get to know each other, and bond, in a completely different way before heading off to the pub, then this one is for you!

The comedy masterclass will teach you the methods and techniques to craft your set, get up on stage and make an impact. If you want the confidence and know-how to get on that stage and make them laugh then this is your chance to dip your toe in the water. The class is taught in a relaxed and encouraging atmosphere by a professional comedian, Louise Stevenson, who has been running Brighton Comedy Course for over a decade.

There are plenty of writing exercises which often result with group in stitches and frequently end up as material. There’s a real team dynamic in all classes with the shared goal of performing a small piece of material integrating the delivery and stage techniques that we’ve learnt (for those who wish) at the end of the class.

The coaching environment is designed to bring out your comedy genius and help you shine.  A safe space with likeminded human beings.

Can you have a hen and stag do together?

Of course, you can, these are increasingly common and are a great option if you have friends of mixed genders.

‘I attended the Comedy Masterclass on a stag weekend in Brighton. It was excellent fun and l learnt a lot about stand-up comedy in a short space of time. Never been keen on public speaking so it was great to try it out with humour with a friendly crowd and an excellent coach. A brilliant way to get to know all my brother’s (the groom) mates, and for my father to royally put us on in our place by having everyone in stitches. Will never hear the end of it!’ Mark Teeson

‘Was quite scared when I heard that the best woman had booked a Stand-Up Comedy Masterclass. I needn’t have worried. Louise as well as being super funny made us all feel comfortable. It was hilarious. Not laughed that hard for a while. Louise was an excellent teacher (and very good fun in the pub too.)  What a way to get to know a bunch of people you’ve not met before. Fabulous.’ Sarah Oliver
